ALEXIA BARRIER : Bilan présenté en septembre

Alexia Barrier et son bateau 4myplanet sont rentrés au port de Monaco Après plus de 20 000 milles en solitaire parcourus en Méditerranée et en Atlantique Nord et Sud. En ramenant avec elle une moisson d'informations sur les océans et des magnifiques rencontres avec les enfants des township de Capetown et des favelas de Rio qui ont navigués sur le bateau, les objectifs de cette mission sont atteints.

Passé les hourras des enfants Monégasques et ceux de Menton venus en nombre l'accueillir, Alexia Barrier et son équipe dressent aujourd'hui le bilan de ce premier voyage 4myplanet qui a allié Aventure, Rencontres et transmission des valeurs de protection des océans et de la planète chère à SAS le Prince Albert II de Monaco, Président du comité d'honneur de 4myplanet, et la récolte scientifique.

Ce bilan scientifique et humain sera présenté en septembre lors d'une conférence de presse au Musée Océanographique ou sera réuni autour d'Alexia tous les acteurs de ce premier voyage ; des enfants accompagnés de leurs professeurs aux chercheurs (Coriolis, Ifremer, IAEA) ainsi que ses partenaires.

Cette analyse précise va aussi permettre de cibler les actions qui sont prévues pour la fin de l'année ainsi que la suite des voyages de 4myplanet et d'Alexia à commencer par la célèbre Route du Rhum ou la jeune skipper sera la seule femme en compétition sur un monocoque de 60'.

Au cours d'une soirée de Gala 4myplanet à Monaco début Octobre nous saluerons la fin du premier voyage et présenterons les objectifs de la Fondation 4myplanet. Au cours de cette soirée une vente d'objets exceptionnels ainsi que quelques souvenirs de son voyage sera effectuée afin de contribuer au développement de ce projet qui fait d'Alexia Barrier l'ambassadrice de Coeur pour la protection des Océans.

En attendant le futur « Monaco 4myplanet » pour le Vendée Globe 2012 et très impressionnée par la qualité des enfants rencontrés au cours de son voyage elle aimerai faire le cadeau d'emmener ces enfants de Monaco, Capetown (association Izinguvugu), Rio (Foundation Projetto Greal) et NewYork faire la célèbre transatlantique Le Cap Rio. Le rapprochement de ces différentes cultures, le récit par ces enfants de cette aventure, le partage feraient de ce voyage une action concrète de la future Fondation 4myplanet et devrait s'assurer un grand succès eu égard aux évènements rapprochant Monaco et l'Afrique du Sud.

Les propriétaires de grands yachts apportent aussi leur soutient à 4myplanet et SOJANA de Peter Harrison a décrété un 4myplanet Day en en portant les couleurs à la Super Yacht Cup de Palma de Majorca, action saluée les autres bateaux et l'organisation. Peter Harrison récemment nommé CBE (Commandeur du British Empire) devrait devenir le président du comité de soutien de 4myplanet pour l'Angleterre.

Après les succès rencontrés lors de mon premier voyage, je cherche une entreprise qui saura accompagner le développement des projets Sportifs, éducatifs et scientifiques de 4myplanet et participer à l'établissement de la "Fondation 4myplanet" à Monaco.

- The Vendee Globe 2012.

After my first trip succes, I want a company that will accompany the development of 4myplanet projects in sailing, educational and scientific and participate in the establishment of the "4myplanet Foundation" in Monaco.

CORIOLIS

Le projet Coriolis

Le projet Coriolis est l’un des composantes d’un système de prévision de l’état de l’Océan

Pour faire de la prévision, il faut trois éléments :

Un élément de prévision modélisation
Un élément de d’observation satellitale de la surface de l’océan
Un élément d’observation in situ de l’océan : c’est le rôle de Coriolis

Coriolis s’appuie sur un grand nombre de sources de données (flotteurs de surface, flotteurs, dérivants profonds, navires de recherche ou navires d’opportunité) pour être capable de fournir en temps quasi réel aux prévisionnistes les données de température et de salinité dont ils ont besoin soit pour faire fonctionner leurs modèles (le terme consacré est assimiler les données) soit pour valider les modèles. Les données acquises doivent recouvrir l’ensemble de la surface des océans. On parle de jeu de données global

Contribution de 4myplanet au système d’observation

En mesurant la température et la salinité de la surface de l’océan avec un thermosalinographe, et en les envoyant tous les jours vers le centre de données Coriolis 4myplanet a contribué à cette observation globale de l’océan.

Alexia Barrier is a young woman with strong principals, and she aims to bring her message to the entire world as she begins her ambitious circumnavigation project "4 My Planet." Her mission is to share information on the worsening condition of the global environment, and sad state of the world's oceans, by raising awareness through her participation in the Vendee Global Challenge, followed by a solo circumnavigation. Alexia honed her sailing skills early, learning to sail through the excellent youth program of the Yacht Club de Monaco, who have supported "4 My Planet" from its' first inception. She has concentrated on keeping her project Monaco-based, subsequently gaining the royal patronage of His Royal Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco, followed by that of SeaKeepers International - a yachting charity specialized in global ocean research and date gathering .
